Week 4 of 18
Farm News: Thank goodness for irrigation this year, many of the plants are set up and have been watered since we have not had rain lately. The vine crops (zukes, melons, cukes and squash) in the field are no longer covered and look amazing. Have a great week and stay hydrated it is going to be hot week. This week’s harvest includes: Spinach (Corvair), Broccoli (Bay Meadows) or Cauliflower (Fremont), Cucumbers (Corinto and Tasty Jade…longer ones), Swiss Chard (Rainbow Improved), Peas (Sugar Ann), Green Kale (Ripbor and Winterbor), Lacinato Kale (Lacinato and Toscano), Cilantro (Santo), Basil (Genovese), Radishes, Fresh Onions, Tomatoes, maybe Lettuce and Fennel. *Variations from the above list may happen due to unexpected issues on harvest days.

- 3 ½ cups cukes – sliced thin
- 1 big onion sliced thin
- Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon salt (let it sit 30 minutes). Rinse and drain.
- 1 cup sugar or ¾ cup honey
- 1 cup vinegar
- 2 tsp mustard seed
