week 18 of 18, October 2015

Greetings!!!

We had record temps on  the 11th followed by extreme winds on Monday.  Due to the extreme changes in temperature we have included a list for what was harvested on October 12th and what we think will be harvested on the 15th.

Harvest on Monday: potatoes, onions, carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, peppers, eggplant, kale, salad mix, green beans, and beets.

Anticipated Harvest on Thursday:  potatoes, onions, carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, kale, salad mix, leeks, turnips, parsley and beets.  Weather dependent  peppers, eggplant, green beans,

2015 has been a year full of ups and downs while adjusting to life on the farm.  As I write this final post for the 6th CSA season – I think about how focused Adam was to start the onions in our greenhouse just days after our daughter Iliana, was stillborn on February 27th.   Adam was driven to make sure that all of the farm tasks were done all season, each day working long hours while also working two off farm jobs.  Each week we were able to fill the shares with a variety of produce – harvested, packed, and delivered the same day.  Thank you for trusting us to grow food for your family.  Thank you for eating farm to table and supporting what we value – solar powered, organically raised produce.

Cheers and Blessings,

Lupita and Adam
